Bio

Dr. Syed Muhammad Mamduh Syed Zakaria is an accomplished academician with extensive experience in Robotics, Chemical Sensing and Artificial Intelligence. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering at University of Canterbury, New Zealand, graduating with honors in 2010. He subsequently went on to pursue graduate studies at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), earning a PhD in Mechatronic Engineering in 2017.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Mamduh has focused his research on robotics, chemical sensing and artificial intelligence, publishing in several academic journals and proceedings gaining 12 H-Index. His 53 papers are widely cited with a total citation of 403. As a teacher and mentor he has taught courses in programming and embedded devices at UniMAP and has continuously supervised PhD and MSc. students in their research.

Dr. Mamduh is a firm believer in the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to leverage their respective strengths and expertise to drive innovation and progress. His collaborations with industry partners such as Selangor Industrial Corporation and Edgenta Mediserve have also allowed him to contribute to the development of solutions that address realworld challenges. To further enhance the impact of academia-industrial collaboration, he has founded IDERIA Sd. Bhd. with his colleagues. The startup has been growing ever since, engaging with various industry players such as Nihon Superior, G2R Sdn Bhd and Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU). His pioneering ability to bridge the gap between academia and industry has been 2 invaluable in facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technology from the academic realm to the commercial sector.
